We the People: A Constitutional Republic, Not a Democracy

Here is a slightly modified version of last year’s Constitution Day post

Today, we celebrate the 226th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution.  On this day, it is imperative that we reflect on the importance of our constitution and celebrate the roots of our founding.  As our nation comes under attack from the forces of tyranny within, we must reaffirm our commitment to the ideals of our founders and founding documents.

Most people often mistakenly refer to our nation as the greatest democracy on earth.  They are mistaken because we are not an absolute democracy; we are a constitutional republic.  That is what makes our nation great, for if we were merely a democracy, we would be anything but great.  And to the extent that we no longer function as a constitutional republic, that greatness is rapidly ebbing away.

Why did we need a constitution?  Why are popular elections not a sufficient means of preserving liberty?

A pure unbridled democracy is a political system in which the majority enjoys absolute power by means of democratic elections.  In an unvarnished democracy, unrestrained by a constitution, the majority can vote to impose tyranny on themselves and the minority opposition.  They can vote to elect those who will infringe upon our inalienable God-given rights.  Thomas Jefferson referred to this as elected despotism in Notes on the State of Virginia (also cited in Federalist 48 by Madison):

An ELECTIVE DESPOTISM was not the government we fought for; but one which should not only be founded on free principles, but in which the powers of government should be so divided and balanced among several bodies of magistracy, as that no one could transcend their legal limits, without being effectually checked and restrained by the others.
Thus, a constitution that limited and divided the power of government was necessary to preclude elected officials from imposing tyranny on the people.  This is why they adopted a constitution with limited enumerated power, divided and checked across several branches and levels.

Sadly, we are currently living through the paramount form of elected despotism that our founders so presciently sought to forestall.  At some point during the progressive era of the early 1900′s, elected officials began to deviate from the constitution in a dramatic fashion.  At present, we find all of our founding principles under assault.  Many prominent political leaders in both parties seek to destroy our free markets, infringe upon our personal liberties, and abrogate our social values. Unfortunately, they have accrued a high level of success.  Moreover, they have prosecuted this revolution without firing a shot.  Instead, they have used the soft edge of the sword of elected despotism.

How have the elected officials been so successful in radically voiding our constitutional republic?  The answer is simple.  They have cynically manipulated their electoral mandate to create enough dependency for them to enjoy perennial power through democratically held elections.

We have reached the point at which almost every American is involuntarily subservient to the federal government for his or her retirement security and healthcare.  Over 47 million people, and one in four children, rely upon government for food stamps. By 2014, under the new Obamacare mandates, an estimated 79 million Americans will be enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP.  This circuitous cycle of dependency, perennial electoral power, and breach of constitutional restraints has transformed our nation from a constitutional republic to a majority-rule democracy.

This is the same majority-rule democracy that is being foisted upon the Middle East in the Arab Spring.  Democratic elections were held in Gaza and Lebanon, and they elected tyranny.  They will be held in Egypt, and they will undoubtedly do the same.  In the Middle East, elected despotism will manifest itself in Islamic tyranny while in America, it has fostered redistributive socialism.  The fact that Arab nations are deposing of their dictators is meaningless.  As Jefferson observed in Notes on the State of Virginia, “it will be no alleviation that these powers will be exercised by a plurality of hands, and not by a single one.  173 despots would surely be as oppressive as one.”

This form of tyranny can only succeed beyond the confines of a constitution that is preserved with vigilance – a constitution that limits the power of government and preserves our rights as granted by God.  As founder John Witherspoon noted, “pure democracy cannot subsist long nor be carried far into the departments of state – it is very subject to caprice and the madness of popular rage.”

Unfortunately, even many political leaders who purport to abide by the constitution are misinterpreting the Tenth Amendment to promote tyranny on a state-level, if not on a national level.  In many respects, the hard core blue states exercise even more officious nanny-state power than the federal government.  Dependency is so rampant among a broad section of some of these states that nobody but those who purvey socialism can assume power.  These states exemplify the worst fears of elected despotism that Jefferson decried in his writings.  In fact, he was specifically addressing unbridled power at a state-level in his book.

Article 4 section 4 of the Constitution prescribes that “the United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican form of Government.”  It is incumbent upon us to restore our constitution as the supreme law of the land so that our God-given rights are not revoked by democracy.

What Happens If A Presidential Election Ends In A Tie?

In two thousand, Americans were preparing to elect a new president in November. The United States Constitution limits presidents to two terms. Bill Clinton would be leaving office. So his Democratic Party needed to choose a new candidate.

The Democrats nominated Clinton's vice president, Al Gore. Gore chose Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut as his running mate. Lieberman became the first Jewish candidate ever nominated by a major party to such a high office. He was first elected to the Senate in nineteen eighty-eight.

Public opinion surveys showed that the race between George Bush
and Al Gore would be extremely close. The election took place on
November seventh. More than one hundred million people voted for
them. Al Gore received about five hundred forty thousand more of
those votes than George Bush did.

But winning the popular vote does not make someone president.
Americans do not directly elect their president. When they vote for a
candidate, what they are really doing is voting for electors. The
number of electors for each state is based on the size of its
congressional delegation, which is based on population. These
electors then vote in December in a system known as the Electoral
College. The Electoral College officially elects the president.
In the two thousand elections, there were five hundred thirty-eight
electors in the Electoral College. To become president, the winner
needed a simple majority of two hundred seventy.

Someone Spilled the Beans on Ted Cruz-WHO?

So who Spilled the Beans on Ted Cruz with the National Enquirer. Why hasn't he threatened to sue? We don't believe Trump or Stone were the culprits. It originally was put out by Rubio from all accounts. We look for something big to break this weekend.

The National Enquirer is indeed a tabloid – and as such there are various grains of salt that should be applied when reviewing anything they present.

However, that said, they have been unfortunately accurate for more than a few presidential hopefuls:  Gary Hart, Jesse Jackson and John Edwards to name a few of the more infamous examples.

A Washington Times writer was abruptly fired after he “came clean” on Twitter about the Ted Cruz sex scandal. The "scandal" involves Ted Cruz cheating on his wife with up to five mistresses, including at least one who was married with children!  This, as Cruz, dares to portray himself a Good Christian . . . . to deceive Evangelicals and win their votes!
The writer, Drew Johnson, confirmed via his Twitter account that there was some truth to the Ted Cruz affair rumors noting that he knows, at least, two of the mistresses named by theNational Enquirer are accurate. The columnist says that other media outlets, columnists and reporters knew about the affairs, but refused to run the story.
The National Enquirer has caused a media firestorm after publishing a cover story about GOP presidential hopeful Ted Cruz and a series of alleged mistresses. The publication is a known tabloid, but despite its reputation for the sensational, has broke a number of big stories related to political candidates and high-profile cases in the past. For example, the National Enquirer was the first to break stories about Gary Hart, Jesse Jackson and John Edwards before they were confirmed by the mainstream media. Therefore, when the tabloid decided to run with a story about Ted Cruz and his rumored “five mistresses,” it left some questioning if the bombshell report could be true.
In response to the story in question, a Washington Times columnist responded that it is not entirely bogus as from “what he knows” at least two of the mistresses outlined in the report are “accurate.”

Breaking: New Trump Scandal, Devastating Info Released

Alex Jones discusses a new scandal surrounding Republican frontrunner Donald Trump that will severely damage the establishment. Trump knows all about the New World Order and the Globalist!

People The Media is Lying Trump beats Hillary and Bernie big….Everywhere

The Real poll Trump VS Hillary as of Arizona Primary. Trump will be POTUS here is why based by AZ last night..
The polls of Donald Trump verses Hillary Clinton:
These polls are clearly flawed. And we know that simply based off the ACTUAL vote turnout so far.
For example, last night Donald Trump received more votes in Arizona than the entire GOP received in 2012… That means that Donald Trump received more women vote than mitt Romney received, and three times more minority votes than mitt Romney received. And the GOP received 2 1/2 times more votes this time around as they did in 2012.
I even heard people saying Utah could go to the Democrats if Donald Trump is the GOP nominee. But even looking at the Utah votes, Donald Trump received twice as many votes as Hillary Clinton did.
The same is true in the state of Maine, Donald Trump by himself in a distant second place still received as many votes as the entire GOP received in 2012. The GOP received three times more votes in that state this time around as compared to 2012.
In Ohio, Donald Trump was also a distant second place, and yet received over 270,000 more votes than mitt Romney did in 2012. The GOP received well over 1,000,000 more votes than they did in 2012 (BIG record) and a substantial amount more votes than the Democratic Party received, even with the Bernie Sanders movement.
In Missouri, Donald Trump received over 100,000 more votes than the entire GOP combined received in 2012. The Republican Party received nearly 4 times more total votes this time around as compared to 2012.
In Idaho, the GOP received five times more votes this time around as compared to 2012, and Donald Trump with a distant second place received more votes by himself this time around than the entire GOP received in 2012.
In Nevada, Donald Trump received 34,000 votes, as opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 6400 votes.
In Michigan, the GOP received way more votes this time around, and a substantially higher number of votes than the Democratic Party received, and Donald Trump won by a large margin in Michigan.
The same goes with Florida, Donald Trump received hundreds of thousands of more votes then did anybody in the GOP last time around, and received hundreds of thousands of minority votes. He received nearly 1,100,000 votes by himself (record)! This is the case with nearly every state that has voted, the GOP is shattering voting records left, right and center!
The GOP is several million votes ahead of the Democratic Party this year, and according to studies, only 17% of all Republican voters will not vote for Trump, and 10% of all Democratic voters will not vote for Hillary Clinton. This puts Donald Trump substantially ahead of her in almost every state so far. (I did not even mention Iowa, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Tennessee-BIG record, Oklahoma, and nearly every state that has voted).
Donald Trump is also receiving three times more minority votes than mitt Romney received, and is also receiving more women votes as well. And this does not account for a number of voters who have not been able to vote because the numbers were so high that they could not make it in because it was so backed up and crowded, as well as democratic crossover voters who are not able to vote for Donald Trump because they did not switch parties in time in some of the states.
Why aren’t they looking at the ACTUAL vote turnout?
By the looks of it, Donald Trump will win big in Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Missouri, Nevada, Arizona, which are all potential swing states, and would surely give Donald Trump a clear victory… Don’t believe all of the media spin doctor polls!

Important revelations that many considering support for Senator Ted Cruz may find useful in determining or solidifying their position on the candidate. Given the popularity of Senator Cruz with his favorable stated positions on many conservative issues, he enjoys some fairly fervent support. It is important for those in the Cruz camp to remember that a similar type of fervor was enjoyed by the current occupant of the White House and some timely vetting at this point in the 2008 campaign might have prevented some critical damage from taking place.
