The pledge reportedly reads:
"I [name] affirm that if I do not win the 2016 Republican nomination for president of the United States I will endorse the 2016 Republican presidential nominee regardless of who it is. I further pledge that I will not seek to run as an independent or write-in candidate nor will I seek or accept the nomination for president of any other party."
Politico reported that at least two GOP campaigns said they received a phone call from RNC Chief of Staff Katie Walsh asking if they would sign the pledge.
The RNC declined to comment.
Trump has held open a threat to run third party if he feels he didn't get the nomination because he wasn't treated fairly. He has said recently he feels the party has been fair to him, but refuses to take a pledge, saying he has "leverage" by not doing so.
